I came across 'Lulu' in going through my concert list and could not believe that Lulu was actually performing in Toronto; of course I had to submit a media request for sure and that too at ‘The Danforth Music Hall’, one of my favourite venues. I finally made the cut, but heard the venue changed and she would now perform at ‘The Velvet Underground’.

Smaller venue with an intimate crowd worked well for that night’s performance. It was my first time I seen rows of seating at the Underground for the crowd  and the now very happy fans were pleased at this arrangement, as they were anxious not knowing what the changed venue had in store for them. Standing in line and speaking with a few, I learned of many diehard fans which crossed the border to view tonight’s performance and rock out with the one and only ‘Lulu’.

The British legend opened the show with ‘Shout’ (The Isley Brothers) and then went to ‘The Boat That I Row’. She then did a tribute to the late David Bowie, ‘The Man Who Sold the World’….

I had a blast and judging by the smiles in the crowd, a fun time had by all. Thanks to the promoters and Embrace for a great show!!!
