Smoke, Shadows & Soundscapes: BRMC + Humanist Tear Into History, Toronto
Humanist, the UK collaborative rock/post-punk project led by Rob Marshall, brought cinematic textures and gritty atmospheres to warm up the crowd. They dived into moody soundscapes that felt like the right prelude to BRMC's brooding rock energy. The crowd, still filling in, seemed drawn in by their tension and layering of Humanist's performance.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Howl (2005), so last night's show leaned heavily into that album while sprinkling in favorites from across their catalog.
