Death To all with special guest Gorguts & Phobophilic

On November 11, 2025, the show at The Danforth Music Hall in Toronto was a masterclass in death metal. Raw, precise and deeply experienced. I captured the energy, the faces, the riffs and the moments that made it special for TriRocks Concert Photography.

Originating from Fargo, North Dakota and active since around 2016, Phobophilic carve their sound from old school death metal roots blended with Lovecraftian horror and existential themes. On stage last night they delivered tight, abrasive riffs, a thick bass presence and the crowd already leaned in hard before the headliner took over. Excellent choice as an opener to set the intensity.

Next a Canadian powerhouse formed near Sherbrooke, Quebec in 1989 and still relevant today, Gorguts are known for their technical/avant-death metal approach and uncompromising sound. Their set brought a different texture, complex song structures, shifting rhythms, dissonance and a cerebral edge. 

The headliner acting as a tribute to the groundbreaking band Death and its legacy, Death to All features former Death members like drummer Gene Hoglan and bassist Steve DiGiorgio, alongside vocalist/guitarist Max Phelps. The tour was billed as a commemoration of the 35th anniversary of Spiritual healing and the 30th of Symbolic by Death. The crowd responded to that legacy hard, and the photographic opportunities were everywhere with dramatic lighting, powerful stage presence and full blast riffs.
