Ministry Brings Industrial Mayhem to a Sold-Out History in Toronto with My Life With The Thrill Kult and Die Krupps.

Toronto's History venue was a pulsating epicenter of industrial rock as Ministry, joined by My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult and Die Krupps, delivered a sold-out spectacle presented by Live Nation. The show, part of Ministry's "The Squirrely Years" tour celebrating Al Jourgensen's early synth-pop roots, was a masterclass in raw energy and nostalgia reimagined with a modern edge.

The evening kicked off with Die Krupps, the German industrial pioneers whose blend of metallic percussion and electronic grit set the tone. Frontman Jurgen Engler's commanding presence and the band's relentless rhythms had heads banging and fists pumping, setting a high bar for the night.

Next up, My Life With The Thrill Kult took the stage, transforming the venue into a sleazy, neon-lit dance floor straight out of a cyberpunk fever dream. Their performance was a reminder of why their live shows remain a chaotic, unmissable experience. 

Then came Ministry, the night's headliners, and the reason History was packed to the rafters. Al Jourgensen and his current lineup—John Bechdel on keyboards, Monte Pittman and Cesar Soto on guitars, Pepe Clarke Magaña on drums, and Paul D’Amour on bass—stormed the stage with a setlist diving deep into their early ’80s synth-driven work, reimagined for 2025. The band's synergy was airtight, with Pittman and Soto's riffs slicing through Bechdel's atmospheric keys, all anchored by Magana's thunderous drumming. Visuals of dystopian imagery and retro VHS aesthetics flashed on screens, amplifying the immersive chaos.
